![]() ![]() Parantanut suurimmat ongelmansa aikaisemmasta kahdesta pelistä. PROS: -Croteam took a risk with the tone and art style and it absolutely payed off -Sam is the funniest he has been in any game possibly -Still the same classic gameplay of First and Second Encounter -Excellent Writing and Funny as Hell Jokes -Creative Bosses and Enemies make for lots of variety -Sometimes the soundtrack kicks ass -Great Cartoony Graphics that still look good to this day -Netricisa is now an actual character and she rocks! NETURALS: -Some might not like the post credits scene after the ending due the "Joke" and feeling like your efforts were for nothing (It's a joke guys just let it slide) CONS: -Guns don't have much of a impact in this game -Ends on a huge cliffhanger that still hasn't been resolved (Maybe in the Reboot of Serious Sam 2 they'll fix this?) That's my only big complaint but other than that Serious Sam 2 is a excellent sequel that never stops humoring you with it's hilarious jokes and superb gameplay. The gameplay is still classic Serious Sam action but the problem I have is because they went for a more saturday morning CGI cartoon style, the weapons don't feel like they have enough OOMPH to them especially the Rocket Launcher and Double Shoutgun. ![]() The other supporting characters are very fun as well and play off of each other and Sam very nicely. There are so many home run jokes that it becomes hit after hit of one great joke after another, even if it's a bit random at times. Sam is absolutely possibly the funniest he has ever been. The game is bright and colorful with a very fun attitude. ![]() Serious Engine 2 still looks good to this day and it's a shame no one else or even Croteam used it ever again for another game. But mind you it's not a bad game! Serious Sam 2 is a hilarious, super fun and excellent sequel that delves into new territory with a more cartoony art style, creative enemies and bosses, very good story and some of the most laugh out loud jokes ever in a game. It only costs as much as a cup of coffee whenever it goes on sale.ħh 19m PlayedIf I was going to say my least favorite game of the near perfect Serious Sam Series, this would be it. It might not be as great as its prequels, but it is still a very enjoyable ride. In any case, you may be put off by the cheesiness of SS2, but I insist that you give it a try if you are a true Serious Sam fan. That portion of the map was definitely not balanced properly. ![]() I played the game on Serious difficulty, and my only complaint is that the second last fight on the final map was just masochistically hard. The map design is simply something you cannot ignore. It's a fresh take on Sam's adventures which I regret not giving a chance to experience in the past. It didn't take me long to get a positive opinion of the game. This somewhat takes away from the original SS experience, but they're optional anyway so I won't put it against Croteam for making this change. Rocket jumping was removed as well, and invisible walls were added to prevent you from exploring off-map. Sadly, the secrets are too straightforward (no more hugwalls, goofy locations, secret triggers, etc), and there are little to no jump scares from monsters that suddenly pop out. There are a lot of corny jokes to give you a nice chuckle as you play, and the incredible number of maps are all wacky and original. Although SS2 is different than its prequels, it still provides comedy and amusement in its own way. You can also pick up objects to elevate yourself to new heights. SS2 introduces new weapons, dozens of new enemies, and also mounted weapons and vehicles to breath new life into the series. The game plays out just like Serious Sam, and Croteam jam-packed it with lots of story to get you more intimate with the characters and world instead of just leaving it as your typical arena shooter. 18h PlayedI was skeptical going into Serious Sam 2, being aware of its design and all, but despite that skepticism, the game was actually a pleasant surprise. ![]()
